5GAGRIHUB: 5G MPN AgriTech HUB in Hungary
The project aims to establish a 5G Mobile Private Network (MPN) Hub on agriculture with Széchenyi István University, Hungary:
- to enhance R&D activities and support education,
- to validate the technical and business added value of 5G MPN based E2E (end-to-end) solutions in agriculture,
- to create an ecosystem of innovative partners capable of delivering E2E (end-to-end) solution blueprints.
To achieve the goals, a 5G network-based field testbed at a Demonstration farm in Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary is going to be established. After the implementation of the 5G infrastructure, 3 use cases will be carried out related to the agriculture sector:
- Row crop cultivator in field crop production
- Machine-to-machine connection in field crop production
- Weed monitoring and spraying plan with machine-to-machine connection in field crop production.
After the implementation of 3 use cases, the University and other partners involved will be able to continue using the deployed 5G network free of charge thanks to an open-source community and innovation space, where the University and associated partners will have the opportunity to test and co-create their own solutions.
